A tense confrontation erupted in Hyderabad as Dedeepya Rao, a local corporator representing Bharat Rashtra Samiti (BRS), faced an ambush and assault by unidentified women. The altercation stemmed from a dispute over the removal of flexi banners outside the residence of a Congress leader in the city.

The incident unfolded in the Vengal Rao Nagar area on a recent Tuesday night, when Rao, acting on behalf of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation, directed the Disaster Response Force (DRF) to remove the flexi boards from the house of Congress leader Naveen Yadav.

Shortly after the removal process began, supporters of Yadav confronted Rao, sparking a heated argument. Matters escalated swiftly as supporters of the corporator also arrived, escalating the dispute into a physical altercation between the two factions.

As Rao attempted to retreat to her vehicle, she faced a physical assault by several unidentified women, intensifying the chaos of the situation. Prompt police intervention ensued, and authorities have initiated a legal process, filing a case against both groups involved.

Detective Inspector Jubilee Hills, R. Madhusudhan, stated, “This incident happened last night. We have registered a case against the women who had attacked the corporator.” An ongoing investigation aims to untangle the complexities of the conflict and ensure justice is served.

The incident underscores the heightened tensions and risks faced by public officials in carrying out their duties, shedding light on the need for peaceful resolution and respect for democratic processes in civil discourse.
