Former Rajasthan chief minister Ashok Gehlot has called upon the BJP government at the Centre to provide a thorough account of its promises made during the 2014 and 2019 Lok Sabha elections. Gehlot’s demand underscores a growing scrutiny of political manifestos and their implementation.

In a statement issued on Monday, Gehlot emphasized the need for transparency regarding the pledges made by the BJP in its electoral manifestos. He highlighted promises such as repatriating black money from overseas within 100 days and generating two crore jobs annually, which remain unfulfilled according to him.

Gehlot articulated, “The people have not yet forgotten the promises made in 2014. The Modi government should be held accountable for the commitments it made to the electorate during both the 2014 and 2019 elections.”

Furthermore, Gehlot stressed the importance of evaluating the implementation status of announcements made in previous electoral manifestos. He urged for a comprehensive review of the BJP’s performance in fulfilling its electoral promises over the past tenures.

Quoting Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, Gehlot emphasized the significance of informed decision-making, especially among the youth. He encouraged voters to critically evaluate the facts and concerns raised by political leaders, such as Rahul Gandhi, to pave the way for a better future.

Rahul Gandhi, in his critique of the Modi government, highlighted concerns regarding employment opportunities. He accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of neglecting the issue of unemployment and leaving numerous central government positions vacant.

As electoral debates intensify, the call for accountability regarding electoral promises resonates strongly, indicating a heightened awareness among citizens regarding political accountability and governance.
