Indian cricket star Virat Kohli and Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma celebrated their daughter Vamika’s third birthday on Thursday. Despite the family’s travels on various foreign tours, both Kohli and Anushka have maintained a deliberate decision to refrain from sharing pictures of Vamika on social media. The couple disclosed the reason behind this choice back in 2021.

Following Vamika’s birth, Virat Kohli shared the happy news on his Instagram, prompting a fan inquiry about potential birthday glimpses. Kohli responded, “No, we have decided as a couple to not expose our child to social media before she has an understanding of what social media is and can make her own choice.”

Meanwhile, Kohli, returning to the T20I setup for the first time since the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022, will miss the opening match of the three-game T20I series against Afghanistan.

The series kicks off on January 11 in Mohali, with the second match scheduled for January 14 in Indore, and the conclusion set for January 17 in Bengaluru. Head coach Rahul Dravid confirmed Kohli’s absence from the opener due to personal reasons. Yashasvi Jaiswal will open alongside captain Rohit Sharma, with Kohli’s return confirmed for the last two matches.

Rahul Dravid highlighted the significance of player performance in the Indian Premier League (IPL) in shaping the T20 World Cup squad, as India will only play one T20I series before the 2024 tournament.

India’s Squad for the T20I Series against Afghanistan: Rohit Sharma (Captain), Shubman Gill, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Virat Kohli, Tilak Varma, Rinku Singh, Jitesh Sharma (wk), Sanju Samson (wk), Shivam Dube, Washington Sundar, Axar Patel, Ravi Bishnoi, Kuldeep Yadav, Arshdeep Singh, Avesh Khan, and Mukesh Kumar.
