In a commendable effort, District Superintendent of Police Sundaravathanam has successfully handed over 303 cell phones, valued at Rs. 60 lakhs, to their rightful owners in Kumari district.

Numerous complaints about lost cell phones were reported to all police stations in Kumari district, prompting District Superintendent Sundaravathanam to initiate prompt action on these complaints.

Under his direct supervision, the cybercrime police unit actively pursued the recovery of missing cell phones. Over the past year, a total of 1051 cell phones have been located and returned to their rightful owners. The most recent recovery involves 303 cell phones with a combined value of Rs. 60 lakhs.

The official handover ceremony took place yesterday morning at the meeting hall of the District Superintendent of Police’s office in Nagercoil. District Police Superintendent Randu Sundaravathanam personally returned the recovered cell phones to their owners and commended the cybercrime police unit for their diligent efforts in retrieving the lost devices.

It’s worth noting that some of the recovered cell phones were traced back to northern states and outer districts, showcasing the extensive reach and effectiveness of the recovery operation.
