I am from a small town in Bishnupur, Manipur. This is not about Manipur but the days I spent at one of the best college in Kanyakumari district, Rohini College of engineering and technology. To the extreme south if India we have this beautiful town with beaches.
RCET, the best engineering college in Kanyakumari district, has great infrastructure. The Computer Science department being one of the highly appreciated ones among the lot in the nation, the faculties being highly supportive in the student endeavors with adequate facilities, I find myself fortunate to have been a student and a Placement Cell Student Coordinator under the same.
At the beginning I stayed as a paying guest in one of the local houses. This was because of my thought that I will get better food according to my taste. I had heard that food at hostels were very pathetic. But RCET hostels were very different. They had tasty foods that suits students from different states. The food was tasty and more importantly they had good staff. They were polite and gentle. This made me move to college hostel within 5 months of my joining.
After changing my accommodation to college hostel then it was the best days of my life. I had many friends who were very helpful. We used to chat, play and share everything among us. The hostel had a small ground nearby where we used to play games. This helped us to maintain a healthy body and a peaceful mind.
Moreover the students from the Kanyakumari district were very caring. They used to bring us sweets and special dishes during festivals and weekends. This shows the generous nature of the people of Tamil Nadu and I still respect them. It was a heaven for me which lasted just 4 years.
