Hollywood icon Robert Downey Jr recently shared insights into his relationship with acclaimed filmmaker Christopher Nolan. The actor revealed that Nolan tends to shy away from the limelight, particularly after the success of their collaboration on the film “Oppenheimer.”

Speaking at Sundance, RDJ mentioned, “He (Nolan) recoils (from the spotlight), as though from a hot flame, from this new and unwelcome reality.” Downey was present at the opening night of the festival to present Nolan with the inaugural Trailblazer Award.

Expressing the evolving nature of their friendship, Downey humorously added, “As in, we had dinner on location once.”

Nolan’s latest directorial venture, “Oppenheimer,” received both commercial success and critical acclaim. Starring Cillian Murphy in the lead role, the film also featured notable actors such as Emily Blunt, Florence Pugh, Matt Damon, and Robert Downey Jr. The movie hit theaters on July 21 alongside Greta Gerwig’s “Barbie,” and the Oppenheimer team is now setting its sights on the upcoming Oscars scheduled for March.
