Bharatiya Janata Party state president Annamalai has been walking across Tamil Nadu in the name of En Man… En Makkal… and has been meeting people. He started his journey from Ramanathapuram district and went to different districts to spread the central government schemes to the people. Accordingly, he planned to go on a walk and meet the people in all the 6 assembly constituencies in Kumari district. He came to Annamalai, Kanyakumari last night for this purpose. Overnight stay at a private hotel. At 9 am today, he went to the Gandhi Memorial Mandapam located on Kanyakumari Beach Road on the occasion of the 77th Independence Day celebrations. He paid respects to the full-length statue of Goddess Bharata there by garlanding it.
After that, Annamalai went to the Gandhi Memorial Hall and paid his respects by placing a wreath at Gandhi’s Asthi Ghat (memorial) there. In this program former Union Minister Pon. Radhakrishnan, MR. Gandhi MLA Kumari District BJP President Dharmaraj, Nagercoil Municipal Councilor and Kumari District BJP. Ayyappan, head of the economic division, district BJP. Youth Team Executive Committee Member Krishnaraj, District Treasurer Muthuraman, State Secretary Meenadev, Agastheeswaram Integrated Union Observer Subhash and many others participated.
Then Annamalai went to Kaliakavilai under Vilavankode Assembly Constituency and started walking from there. The volunteers gave him a warm welcome. Annamalai spoke among them. He went to every part and met people. Many people welcomed him. Today he is speaking at Annamalai Pits. He also meets and talks with community leaders and important personalities in that area. Annamalai starts trekking from Kettamani at 4 pm and goes to Iraviputhurkadai at night. He is addressing a meeting there.
Tomorrow morning (17th) the trek will start from Samiyar Mutt under Padmanabhapuram constituency and end at Annamalai and Manali Junction. In the evening he starts the trek from Takkala junction and ends the trek at Villukuri junction. The next day (18th) starts the trek from Parvathipuram under Nagercoil Constituency. He goes up to Veppamudu Junction and speaks in front of the Kamaraja idol there. In the evening he goes hiking in Kanyakumari and meets people.
